When Lisa Wojnovich of Litsy Designs was asked to help Patsy Smith create a nursery for baby Madeline that could be turned into a little girl's dream room, she was up for the challenge.
A series of garden canvases entitled "In the Garden Trio" from Litsy Designs, inspired the "Room to Grow" theme. "The idea is to make an easy transition from little-girl to big-girl without having to reinvent the entire room," Lisa explains.
The furniture is classic little-girl and very traditional. Clean and simple pieces were used in the nursery. The updated furniture in Madeline's room blends seamlessly into the space and includes a few pieces that every growing kid needs, like a desk and a really cool chair.
"For her 11th birthday we let Madeline help design the new room," Patsy explains. "Madeline really wanted green walls, a great hue for any age."
The transformation was a breeze, the walls were left the same color and the bedding was updated with pink, blue and green patchwork linens.
Personalized touches like the "baby sleeping" sign and birth announcement plaque were also saved from the nursery. A "Dream Big" sign and a "Caroline Daisy" plaque, personalized with the name "Maddie" (all from Litsy Designs) made the transformation from newborn to tween official.
